There were some things I didn't like about the way the author wrote the book. I really wasn't a fan of the the flashbacks of her life. It seemed that the book made more scenes though, but I wasn't a fan of it. I also didn't get when she wrote that Mia's soul came out of her body so she could still see everything. It was kind of confusing. But it was still kind of a cool way of writing.
I cant really compare this book to an other book. Ive never read a book like this before. I like this style of book though. There might be some book like the one I read, but I don't think I'll want to read another book like this. The reason for that is because if I read another book like that, I might not like If I Stay, anymore. In the end, it was a very good book. (:

Predictions: If I Stay(blog#7)

Well since I've already read this book before doing the blogs, my mistake, I will just tell you about some of my predicitons that I thought when I was reading. I had lots of ideas of what would happen. The ideas I had were WAY off of the book!
I thought that the book would tell more about her progress in the hospital. Unfortunatly, the author didnt had that in mind when writing. During the book, Mia was telling the story from her perspective. She was also talking about the people who were visting her and how she has a good or bad relationship with them. It was cool how Mia talked about her life as she was in the hospital. It was pretty cool, I guess.
Also, I thought that it would be a really cool and it could have happend, I thought it would have been a dream, like the whole thing! That would have been AWESOME! The original ending was cool too. Ha Ha. Im not going to give away the ending because if anyone wants to read it, then i wont say what happens :P but it was a pretty great ending! :)

My book, If I Stay, was written by a woman named Gayle Forman. She has written other books that are apparently really good. After reading this book, I think I will start to read her other books. If any of her other books are like If I Stay, I think she might be one of my new favorite authors.
I don't really know why the Gayle would want to write this book. Honestly, why does anyone write a book. Well, I shouldn't really say that. People write books about there pasts, there possible future and what they think the world will be in X amount of time. But I can honestly say that I have no theory of why she would want to write this book. She could have wrote it for a family member or something, but I don't know.
I believe that Gayle is trying to tell everyone to live there life to the fullest. The reason I think that is because she wrote about a girl who was about to have it all, and then its taken away from her. Its a pretty good message that shes trying to put out to the public. After reading this book, I think I will try to live my life to the fullest, next stop, SKY DIVING! ha ha :P

This book, personally, reminds me of something that happened when I was younger. This book is about love, music, and being strong, well, I think it is about that. When I was younger, I use to play the guitar, and I was really good. I also use to be more in touch with my music. For example, if you played a song for me, I would be able to name who it is and what song it is. That was until my Pop got sick.
My Pop was my grandpa. He got bone and lung cancer when I was in the sixth grade. That's when I stopped playing guitar and music didn't seem very important. The only reason I picked up my guitar was to play Hey Jude for my Pop when he was in the hospital. I don't think I've seen him that happy when I played that for him. That was the last time I picked up a guitar. That is like what Adam did because of Mia, he was supposed to play a BIG show that night and he didn't play because of Mia.
Ive never really read a book like this one before. Hopefully that's a good thing, because that means that the author was being creative and original.

When I read that Mia's family got into the car accident, I was upset and heartbroken. The reason for this is because they had big plans to see there friends and grandparents that night. Also, Mia was going to a big music school in New York. After finding out about the families lives, I was just heartbroken. I was thinking that Mia would never be able to see her famiy again. Also she would not be able to go to her new school when she had to.
Also, when I read that Mia's boyfriend, Adam, that he took her to the concert in Seattle, I thought it was really sweet and kind of him to do that. But later during the date, he told Mia how he got the tickets. Orignally, he told Mia that his parents got the tickets then couldnt go so Adam go them, but then he told her that he worked none stop to get the money. Litterally, I almost cried because it was so sweet. (:

Mood: If I Stay(blog#3)
While reading this book, there were many emoitons to feel while reading. When reading I felt only two emotions. Love & depression. The reason I felt love in such a sad book is because of the main characters, Mia, boyfriend, Adam. Throughout the book, Mia describes times she spends with Adam, for example, he lied about tickets to a concert in Seattle, and while during the date, Mia asks him how he got the tickets for real, and he said that he worked none stop for 2 weeks to get the tickets, just for her.
The reason for depression, well theres two main reasons for depression. First, Mia gets into a car accident. Also, she lost all of her family to the accident. The saddest incident was when Mia's family gets into the car accident. Probably the most funny incident was when Adam tried to see Mia in the hospital. He startes a GIANT scene in the lobby and runs to Mia. It was pretty boss (:

Characters: If I Stay(blog#2)
March 6th 2010.
There were not many characters in this book, but they all had an important part in the book.
The main character is named Mia. Mia was a very believable teenage girl. Mia reminds me of myself, slightly, because we both play cello and love music. Mia is the type of person who keeps to herself and is quiet. Again, kind of like me.
Another character is named Adam. Adam is Mia's boyfriend. They met in the music wing at school. Adam is a very believable eighteen year old hardcore fan. Adam, personally, reminds me of my good friend, Jordan. They both love hardcore music and are both very sweet. Personaly, I love this character.
Lastly, Kim. Kim is Mia's bestfriend. Kim is a jewish awkward sixteen year old, very believable. Kim reminds me of my friend, Allison. Kim became more strong as a young woman because of Mia getting into the car accient. Also, Kim stood up to her very hard-headed mother, so there is another reason that she is a strong person.

If I Stay, Blog #1

My Book is called If I Stay. This book is about music, friendship, family, love and life. The main character is named Mia. Mia and her family get into a serious car accident. The very begining talkes about the family, and throughout the book they also talk about them, but they seem like a very nice family. As I was reading, I was thinking, "Why them? Why did the author want THIS certain family to get hurt?". As I was thinking about that, I reilized, there would be no story.
Mia is the only one in her family who survives the accident. They where going to visit some friends in the country, but the roads were very slippery due to the snow they got the night before. Mia fell asleep in the car so when she felt the car crashing, she was curled up and didnt get as hurt.
